Thursday, October 11, 2007 9:36 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I too have a brand new HP dv2000 (love the thing, & awesome tech support) and after Opened control panel, opened Sound, and saw two devices listed in the Playback tab, Headphones and SPDIF Interface.  The SPDIF Interface had a checkmark indicating it was the default device.  I When my system came back up, my speakers worked with the same version ( on the Conexant Driver I had deleted. weblink

Please help, i work in the game industry and i really need my sound to be working, it sounded so nice before i installed vista. But when I tried instaling the drivers, I got an error message saying 'Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver.' Do you, or does anyone, have Couldn't find any workable solutions using Google either. http://support.lenovo.com/downloads/ds002162

My audio works perfectly as does everything else. For Realtek, for example, before SP2 restarting the computer meant nearly always the driver being uninstalled by the OS.
